About us

Every property has a PMS. Tempo is defining a new category: the Operations Management System (OMS), the cognitive layer for hotels. As the property brain, Tempo drives operational efficiency and NOI back to owners by understanding what needs to be done and dispatching the people, agents, and robotics to control hotel systems and steer operations.

We're a seed-stage startup working with top owner/operator groups and leading brands, backed by top investors out of Silicon Valley, New York, and Cambridge. Joining at seed isn't for everybody, but this is an opportunity to have an outsize impact steering a company's product, market, and scale quickly.

The role

You'll work directly with our head of engineering to build the frameworks Tempo runs on. Hotels are physical, noisy, and full of systems with no API. The agents that run them need memory that survives a shift change, hands that can operate a PMS through a browser, and a voice that works for someone pushing a cart down a hallway. That's what you'll build.

This is a generalist seat with product ownership over the entire product suite. You'll move from agentic runtime, evaluations, and harnesses, to tools and domain infrastructure, to web and mobile front ends. You'll steer what gets built, not just how.

You will

• Build the AI-native frameworks under the product: agent memory that persists across shifts, properties, and conversations; browser agents that operate hotel systems no integration reaches; voice products for staff who work with their hands
• Ship end to end across the stack, from the agent loop to the web and mobile surfaces a housekeeper or front desk agent actually touches
• Define what correct means before you build. Write the evals for a dispatch, a report, or a handoff, then hold the system to them
• Sit with hotel teams, watch how the work really happens, and turn that into product
• Own problems, not tickets. Steer the roadmap with what you learn from production

The job, practically

• In office 5 days/week, 8:30 to 5:30
• Working directly with the head of engineering and founder
• Occasional visits to customer properties to see the work firsthand
• Small team, real hotels in production, no layers between you and what ships

Who you are

• AI-native. You build with models every day, have shipped agentic systems to production, and have opinions about where they break
• A generalist who is comfortable moving between serverless backend, native, and LLM application stacks. Experience with the following technologies is helpful but not necessary: TypeScript, React/React Native, PostgreSQL, GCP
• Have built at least one of: long-lived agent memory, browser automation agents, real-time voice pipelines, with a desire to build the other two
• Care more about the workflow than the model. The hard part is what done means for a housekeeper at 2pm, not the API call
• Want to steer product, not receive specs. Hospitality experience isn't required; curiosity about how operations actually run is
• 5+ years shipping production software

Compensation

Base plus meaningful equity. Competitive package commensurate with experience.
