About us
Every property has a PMS. Tempo is defining a new category: the Operations Management System (OMS), the cognitive layer for hotels. As the property brain, Tempo drives operational efficiency and NOI back to owners by understanding what needs to be done and dispatching the people, agents, and robotics to control hotel systems and steer operations.
We're a seed-stage startup working with top owner/operator groups and leading brands, backed by top investors out of Silicon Valley, New York, and Cambridge. Joining at seed isn't for everybody, but this is an opportunity to have an outsize impact steering a company's product, market, and scale quickly.
The role
You'll own sales end to end: prospecting through demo through close, and build the function from the ground up. This isn't a role where you execute a playbook someone else wrote; you're designing the process as you run it.
You will
- Own the full sales cycle, from prospecting and demos through negotiation, close, success, cross-sell, and expansion
- Bring existing relationships with decision-makers at portfolio groups. This is not a role for building a network from scratch
- Navigate multi-stakeholder enterprise sales across large brands and boutique/independent hotel groups
- Turn customer conversations into product guidance. You're a feedback loop into the roadmap, not just a closer
- Split time roughly evenly between strategy and execution
- Eventually build and manage a team under you
The job, practically
- In office 5 days/week, 8:30 to 5:30
- Working directly with the founder and head of engineering
- Conference and event travel in fall and spring
- Full autonomy to design the sales motion. GTM is the most consequential function in an early stage company and there's no playbook, so bring yours
Who you are
- 3 to 5+ years in hospitality sales, with a real, current network of decision-makers at hotel ownership/management groups. Portfolio-level relationships you can activate immediately, not warm from a past role
- Track record closing complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals
- Equally at home with a 3-property boutique group and a top-5 operator
- Turns customer pain into product requirements. You'll shape what gets built
- Wants to build and own a function, not execute someone else's plan
Culture note
We're second-time founders with no interest in running a hype machine. We work hard during the day, we don't work late, we don't work weekends. Show up, crush it, leave it at the door.
Compensation
Base + commission tied to closed/collected revenue, plus equity. Competitive package commensurate with experience.
Send a short note and whatever shows your work best.
